Edward (Denzell) Dascanio, 2021 Summa Cum Laude Graduate of Georgia Highlands College, was accepted to the Georgia Institute of Technology to major in Engineering. To add to his major accomplishments, Denzell was awarded the Black American Engineering Scholarship Award!

Two of Hiram Upward Bound’s Students have successfully made it to the second round of the Posse scholarship becoming successful leaders and preparing themselves to move mountains in life. Posse’s goal is to help students ensure their collegiate success.

Zy Harshaw NSLC Nomination
Rockmart High School Junior Zykarius Harshaw from the Kennesaw State University Rockmart-Cedartown Upward Bound Program has been selected to participate in the Council for Opportunity in Education’s 31st Annual National Student Leadership Congress.

KSU TRIO Programs are hosting an ACT Test Prep Boot Camp that aims to not only prepare
high school students for the big test that will determine their college entrance,
but they are also working to prepare students for life in the community.

TRIO Students were part of a drone assembly class in a summer academy offered to students
in KSU Upward Bound programs. Students were refining their drone-handling skills,
but they were also getting support in preparing for and succeeding in college.
