Our Employee Well-being Philosophy is to increase awareness of positive health behaviors, to motivate employees to voluntarily adopt healthier behaviors through providing opportunities and a supportive environment to foster positive lifestyle changes. We encourage mindful eating and research evidence-based health programs that support a holistic approach to physical & mental wellbeing.

Health and well-being programs are offered to all KSU faculty and staff! These programs vary each semester and cover a variety of topics including nutrition, weight management, stress management and physical activity. Program details are promoted through the HR newsletter to all employees.

Diabetes Prevention Program

Your KSU Employee well-being team is proud to be offering CDC's National Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) to our staff, faculty, and spouses. This one-year small group program teaches you how to eat healthy, increase your physical activity and manage your stress to prevent or delay type 2 diabetes, with the support of a lifestyle coach and research evidence-based curriculum from the CDC.

To be eligible for the program, you must:

  • Have a body mass index (BMI) of 25 or greater AND                  
  • Have prediabetes diagnosed by a blood test OR
  • Have a history of gestational diabetes OR

Screen positive for prediabetes using the American Diabetes Association risk test

If youโ€™re looking to start eating healthier but arenโ€™t sure where to begin, weโ€™ve got you covered. Full Plate Living makes it easy to add more whole, unprocessed fiber foods to the meals you already enjoy. Itโ€™s all about taking small steps that can lead to big health benefits.

In eight 50-minute sessions, youโ€™ll learn how to fill your plate with healthier choices and gain greater health by eating more whole, unprocessed fiber foods. More importantly, youโ€™ll discover 10 tools designed to help you along your journey. This program also helps you determine if youโ€™re ready to make changes and, if not, how to get ready.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month!

We invite you to our Well-being Walk and Talk ๐Ÿšถโ€๐Ÿšถโ€ events to raise awareness about mental health, support each other, and stay active. Join us for a walk, connect with your community, and learn about resources available to support your mental well-being.
