Civil and Environmental Engineering Standing

At Kennesaw State, the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering upholds rigorous academic standards. Students aspiring to enroll in upper-division courses must first achieve our Engineering Standing.

Eligibility for Engineering Standing includes maintaining a minimum 2.7 GPA in specific math, science, and engineering courses, as detailed in the application form.

Engineering Standing Application Information

Civil and Environmental Engineering students seeking Engineering Standing should download and complete the application for their major. For minors, use the non-engineering standing form available at the bottom of this page. Submit your completed application via email to your academic advisor  for processing. If there are any issues, your advisor will respond accordingly. If you encounter any issues or need help finding your advisor, email SPCEETadvising@kennesaw.edu so we can get you assigned to an advisor.

Coursework for Non-Engineering Majors

Non-engineering students seeking to enroll in upper-level engineering courses for a minor or dual major must meet specific GPA and prerequisite requirements, including foundational coursework in math, science, and engineering disciplines. Additionally, students are required to complete 12 credits from approved courses within the Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology or related fields.
