Joel JSM-7600F series Schottky Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope
Managing PI: Dr. David Veazie
The Joel JSM-7600F series is an ultra-high resolution Schottky Field Emission Scanning
Electron Microscope which has a semi-in-lens objective lens as well as an in-lens
Schottky FEG. With both methods it can produce a stable large probe current and high
resolution. This model also has a gentle beam mode that reduces the incident electron
penetration on the specimen. With a magnification of 25 to 1,000,000 times normal
and an accelerating voltage rating from 0.1kV to 30kV it is a valuable instrument
for the college. Information coming soon!

MTS 10KN electromechanical load frame
Managing PI: Dr. David Veazie
The MTS Insight testing solution integrates leading edge electromechanical load frame
technology with best-in-class TestWorks software. The current model is rated for a
10kN frame with a load cell equal to such static stresses. The equipment can test
low to high-strength components, structural materials, composites, metals, plastics,
elastomers, biomaterials, paper products, adhesives, and foam with a sensitivity of
2.373mV/V.

Spotlight 200i FT-IR Microscopy System
Managing PI: Dr. Amy Gruss
The Spotlight 200i FT-IR Microscopy System along with the included software utilizes
a high performance single-point detector and white light LED illumination provides
true color display with capabilities for auto-illumination and autofocus modes. The
software Spectrum 10 allows for full control over the microscope including the focusing
on the sample, illumination, stage position, changing between sampling modes, and
manipulating the spectra. The spectrometers can operate in ratio, single-beam, or
interferogram mode and features a Micro-ATR objective with a silicon or germanium
crystal and a standard motorized stage controlled by a joystick or through software.
The system van produces high quality spectral productions from sample areas with diffraction
limits as low as 10 microns. The region of interest allows for ease of analysis of
multiple particles and layers at once.

Clarus GC Mass Spectrometer
Managing PI: Dr. M.A. Karim
Clarus GC systems are controlled by the TotalChrom™ chromatography data system (CDS). This software can streamline your workflow and enables you to manage your GC data quickly and securely, in a regulated or non-regulated environment. The Clarus systems’ all-new wide-range flame ionization detector (FID) measures hydrocarbon compounds at very low and very high levels, with a linear response range of 107. The proprietary TurboMatrix™ Headspace technology provides unparalleled precision and ease of use for a wide variety of GC and GC/MS applications, including volatiles in water, blood/ alcohol, and residual solvents. The TurboMatrix Thermal Desorption technology delivers exceptional performance and throughput for indoor and outdoor air monitoring, fragrance and flavor analysis, and outgassing analysis from packaging and polymers.
