CYAAR Naloxone Training

The Center for Young Adult Addiction and Recovery will host training sessions throughout the semester to teach students how to administer naloxone, a medication that reverses the effects of an opioid overdose.

While KSU is practicing social distancing guidelines due to COVID-19, training will be through Microsoft Teams. KSU students, staff, and faculty all have access to Microsoft Teams through their Outlook accounts. Each person who signs up through Owl Life will receive instructions for participation to their KSU assigned email. Each person who attends & completes training is provided a free Naloxone kit. Naloxone kits will be mailed to KSU community members who are located in Georgia. Kits will also be available to be picked up when campus resumes in-person classes for those who complete virtual training.

  • At the end of this training the participants will be able to:
  • Identify potential warning signs of an overdose
  • Operate and administer Naloxone in the event of an overdose
  • Identify how Naloxone works
  • Understand the Georgia Medical Amnesty Law

Training is free for KSU students, faculty, and staff. Each person who attends and completes training is provided a free Naloxone kit. Sign up is required.
