Night Owl is made up of Kennesaw State University students from all majors and concentrations. As a Night Owl, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting events across both campuses and the KSU Sports Park. Whether it's managing logistics, assisting with venue setups, or helping guests, you'll be part of a team that makes events happen!

Night Owl is powered by student-led teams, each playing a vital role in the success of events. Our teams range from leadership positions to part-time and availability- based roles, allowing you to find the right fit for your skills and schedule.

The Night Owl Teams 

  • The Broadcast Team handles all aspects of video production for live events at Kennesaw State University, including guest lectures, music performances, and sporting events. This team oversees the logistics and technical phases of live broadcast production, from pre-production and camera setup to control room operations and post- production, ensuring seamless coverage for KSU and our clients.
  • The Event Sales and Services Team supports the department's business development by providing customer service throughout the event process, from lead generation and reservation assistance to event execution and support. This team ensures a seamless experience for clients, helping to facilitate successful events from start to finish.
  • The Crew Call Team is the front-of-house event staff for Night Owl, providing essential support for events through roles such as ticket scanning, ushering, guest services, and attending suites. This team also assists with event setup and teardown, facility upkeep, and various department or campus initiatives as needed, ensuring smooth operations across all events.
  • The Conversion Team is responsible for preparing, setting up, supporting, and tearing down event spaces across both university campuses. From transforming venues to meet event needs to ensuring smooth transitions between event phases, this team plays a crucial role in making every event a success.
  • The Event Audio Visual Team provides audio, video, and lighting support for events at Kennesaw State University. This team works closely with clients, performers, and producers to ensure the technical aspects of each event run smoothly. They manage in-house production roles such as Sound Engineer, Computer Graphics, Switcher, and Lighting to deliver high-quality technical production for every event.
  • The Facilities Team is responsible for maintaining and operating our first-class venues, including the 88-acre Sports & Entertainment Park and the Event Center on the Marietta Campus. This team ensures each venue is ready to host events by handling daily and weekly maintenance and operational tasks. They stay on top of the unique needs of each venue, ensuring they’re always in top condition for every event.
  • The Guest Experience Team is responsible for preparing our venues for guests, providing on-site guest services, and maintaining the overall experience throughout each event. This team manages premium areas, coordinates catering, and handles special requests unique to each event. They also implement initiatives and tasks designed to elevate the experience for guests, clients, staff, and partners, ensuring every event runs smoothly and exceeds expectations.
  • The Marketing Team creates and spreads brand awareness for the Night Owl program, alumni, the Department of Event and Venue Management, our venues, and all affiliated public-facing platforms. This team develops and implements marketing strategies, including creating graphics, managing social media, capturing photos, and ensuring consistent use of department logos and branding across all platforms.
  • The Staffing and Student Engagement Team schedules student staff for events, plans training and engagement activities, and serves as the primary hiring team, recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new staff. This team works to create a vibrant and supportive environment for Night Owl staff by connecting with students through orientations, job fairs, and campus events.
  • The Ticketing Team serves as the primary point of contact for all ticketed events, handling ticket sales, distribution, and customer service. This team engages with guests before, during, and after events to ensure a smooth and positive experience, providing assistance and answering questions as needed.
