The Digital Badge in Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) is designed to assist faculty with the process of evaluating a student's accumulated learning to grant college credit. Self-paced, media-rich, and fully online, this badge program meets higher education learning needs by providing the expertise necessary to assess prior learning in academic programs.
This badge program is designed for faculty interested in:
- Supporting adult and military learners returning to complete a degree
- Working with adult students to demonstrate learning through portfolio review
- Understanding competency and mastery earned through experiential learning
Topics include:
- Introduction to Credit for Prior Learning
- Standards of Credit for Prior Learning
- Differentiating learning from experience
- Assessing prior learning/applying the principles
- Determine the degree and level of competence
- Identification, articulation, measurement, and evaluation
- Guiding students in preparing evidence for the assessment of learning
