Express Mode and Quick Access

Your Mobile Talon Card features the Express Mode/Quick Access transaction experience. This means you will not need to pull up your Mobile Talon Card in the Wallet like you do with other cards. Simply tap your phone’s NFC to the middle of the reader without pulling up the Wallet — this will result in fewer misreads and smoother transactions!

    1. Open the Wallet app and select your card.
    2. Tap the Menu button in the top right corner, then tap “Card Details.”
    3. Tap “Express Transit Settings” or “Express Mode.”
    4. Select your Mobile Talon Card. Once confirmed, a check mark should appear next to it.

Note: If you share an iCloud account with another KSU student, you will NOT be able to add the Mobile Talon Card to your iPhone. You must have your own iCloud account to add the Mobile Talon Card to your Wallet.

    1. On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app.
    2. In the My Watch tab, tap “Wallet & Apple Pay.”
    3. Tap “Express Transit Card.”
    4. Select your Mobile Talon Card and authenticate on your Apple Watch with your passcode
  • Quick Access Should be automatic on your Google Phone. You do not need to unlock your phone, but the screen must be awake to use your Mobile Talon Card. If you are having trouble with accessing your Mobile Talon Card in your Google Wallet, follow the steps below:

    1. Enable NFC on your phone in your Settings menu. NFC settings can be found in different areas of the Settings menu, depending on your device. A common location is Connected Devices > Connection Settings. (If not found there, use the Search option on the top right to double check.).
    2. Toggle the NFC setting to on.
    3. Open Google Wallet and make sure it is enabled as the default payment application. If the app prompts you to add a credit card, you can bypass that screen and return to the Google Wallet home screen.
    4. You do not need to unlock your phone, but the screen must be awake to use your Mobile Talon Card. Tap the power button to wake the screen and tap your phone against the reader. Note, the antenna location may vary by device, although it is often in the middle of the phone. As a result, you may have to adjust the orientation of your phone against the reader to have your mobile credential recognized.
    5. To display your Mobile Talon Card, open the Transact eAccounts app and select the View in Google Wallet icon.
    1. Samsung Galaxy phone, open the Samsung Wallet app.
    2. Tap the “Quick Access” menu at the bottom of the screen. Then swipe down on the list of cards and tap “Edit Quick Access.”
    3. Tap the Add icon (the plus sign) next to your Talon Card.
    4. When you’re finished editing, tap “Save."
    1. Open Galaxy Wearable app from your paired Samsung Galaxy Watch.
    2. Tap Watch settings.
    3. Tap Samsung Wallet.
    4. Tap the "+" button.
    5. Tap Student ID.
    6. Select your Mobile Talon Card. It should now be successfully added to your Galaxy Watch.
    7. To confirm, open the Quick Access tab to check your Talon Card has been added.

If you are having issues where the Mobile Talon Card requires you to authenticate with your Face ID, Finger ID or Passcode before it will complete a read, check your Express Mode/Quick Access settings to ensure it is turned on. If it is on but you are having the issue still, toggle it off then on again. Then, go to your Settings app and toggle Wallet in the Face ID setting (it doesn't matter if this setting is off or on, but toggling it should resolve the issue).
