KSU Library policy requires that all materials checked out of the library be returned by their due date or be subject to fines. 

  • Loan Periods:

    • Books @ KSU: Due annually on August 31 or upon item recall
    • Books/GIL Express: 28 days
    • Books/Interlibrary Loan: Loan periods are set by the lending library
    • DVDs and Videos: 7 days

    Renewal:

    • Books @ KSU: NO Renewals – All books are due annually on August 31 or upon item recall
    • Books/GIL Express: 2 Renewals – Library Account OR GIL Express Account
    • Books/Interlibrary Loan: At the discretion of the lending library
    • DVDs & Videos: NO renewals

    Maximum Number of Items:

    • Books @ KSU: 100
    • Books/GIL Express: 100
    • Books/Interlibrary Loan: 30 items per day
    • DVDs & Videos: 2 items

  • Visiting scholars with KSU IDs may borrow materials from the KSU Library System during their stay at the University. There are different loan periods for short-term visitors (6 months or less) and long-term visitors (7 months or more).

    • Books @ KSU: Short-term visitors-2 weeks | Long-term visitors – Due annually on August 31 or upon item recall
    • Books/GIL Express: *Only for long-term visitors*- 28 days
    • Books/Interlibrary Loan: *Only for long-term visitors*- Loan periods are set by the lending library
    • DVD’s and Videos: 7 days
