As a KSU woodwind student, you will experience a highly personalized musical education and a wide range of opportunities both onstage and in the classroom.
Our curriculum is designed to equip you will the knowledge, experiences, and skills needed to succeed in the rapidly changing field on music. In addition to studies on your chosen instrument, you will receive a thorough grounding in music theory, aural skills, and piano. Our diverse class offerings range from music entrepreneurship and music technology courses to Survey of African American Music, History of Rock and Roll, and Music and the Holocaust.
Woodwind students participate in weekly lessons, studio classes, studio recitals, woodwind symposia, chamber music, wind ensembles, orchestra, a wide range of chamber music experiences, and masterclasses with notable guest artists.
The woodwind faculty at the Bailey School of Music serve as members of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, The Georgia Symphony Orchestra, and the Atlanta Opera Orchestra. They regularly perform in some of the finest concert series and venues regionally and nationally.
