As you fly the nest for the holidays, be savvy about your technology by following these five tips.
- Back Up Your Data: Before you hit the road, back up important files to an external drive or secure cloud
storage. This protects your information in case your devices are lost or damaged.
- Be Cautious with Public Wi-Fi: Avoid using public Wi-Fi for sensitive activities like checking your KSU email or accessing banking accounts. Instead, use a VPN or your phone’s hotspot for added security.
- Secure Your Devices: Keep your devices physically safe while traveling. Use locks in hotel rooms, and always
be aware of your belongings in public spaces.
- Stay Powered Up: Pack portable chargers or power banks to ensure your devices stay charged during long
flights, layovers, or unexpected delays.
- Limit Information Sharing: Avoid posting your exact travel plans or location on social media to reduce security
risks both at home and while away.
Travel smarter this holiday season and protect yourself and your technology!
