Confirming a Student's Legal Status in the U.S.
Lawful Presence Verification (LPV) confirms a student’s legal status in the U.S. and is required at KSU for in-state tuition or an out-of-state waiver before class registration. To qualify for in-state tuition or an out-of-state tuition waiver at Kennesaw State, students must complete Lawful Presence Verification (LPV) to confirm their legal status in the United States. This requirement, outlined in Board of Regents (BOR) Policy 4.3.4, must be met before students can register for classes.
While LPV does not impact admission decisions, a registration hold will remain in place until verification is completed. Students can submit required documents online or in person at the Office of the Registrar. Processing takes approximately 7–10 business days, and students will be notified only if issues arise with their submission.
