Business, IT and Engineering rated in top 75 nationally, best in state by U.S. News

U.S. News & World Report has once again named Kennesaw State University’s online learning programs among its Best Online Programs for 2019.

Among the eight categories evaluated by U.S. News & World Report, Kennesaw State ranked in the top 50 for two of its graduate degree programs — business and information technology — and its engineering programs ranked in the top 60.

“Our inclusion in the U.S. News & World Report online rankings reflects Kennesaw State’s innovative delivery of rigorous graduate-level academic programs that attract those who want to expand their educational knowledge,” said Pamela Whitten, president of Kennesaw State. “As an educational leader in Georgia, we are driving economic growth by providing academic degree programs that ensure an educated and talented workforce. We are tenacious in our commitment to serve students’ needs in the state.”

The Master of Business Administration in the Michael J. Coles College of Business earned the top spot for online MBA programs among Georgia colleges and universities, and it was the only program in the state ranked in the top 50. It ranked 21st in the nation.

The Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) program in the College of Computing and Software Engineering was the top ranked program in Georgia (38th in the nation), jumping slightly from last year.

In addition, online engineering graduate degree programs in Kennesaw State’s Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology ranked for the third consecutive year (59th in the nation), and were the only engineering programs in Georgia to make the 2019 list.

Now in its eighth year, the U.S. News & World Report rankings assessed only degree-granting programs offering 100-percent-online classes. The 2019 rankings evaluated more than 1,500 online degree programs at colleges and universities throughout the nation.

At Kennesaw State, 3,900 students were enrolled exclusively in online courses for fall 2018. KSU offers 21 online master’s degree programs, including six engineering graduate programs, as well as 12 bachelor’s degree programs, four specialist degree programs and two doctoral programs.
