University’s online degree programs recognized by bestcolleges.com
Kennesaw State University has once again been recognized for its online degree programs, garnering another accolade to its list of national rankings.
Kennesaw State was ranked No. 36 in the “2019 Best Online Colleges” by BestColleges.com, a college planning website that provides prospective students with proprietary research, guides and college rankings. Kennesaw State was the only Georgia institution named to the BestColleges Top 50 list.
More than 2,100 accredited nonprofit colleges and universities offer online degree programs nationwide, but only 50 schools, approximately 2.4 percent, made this year’s list. Each institution included in the ranking must offer at least 10 online bachelor’s degree programs and three online master’s degrees.
Kennesaw State was recognized for its accredited online bachelor’s degree program in cybersecurity, as well as multiple degree programs within business and social sciences disciplines. The University offers 12 bachelor’s degree programs, in addition to 20 fully online master’s degree programs, four specialist degree programs and two doctoral programs.
Using qualitative measures and data from the National Center for Education Statistics, the BestColleges ranking methodology focuses on academics and learner support, affordability and online programming. This year, BestColleges included new institutional and program-level data collected from a proprietary survey of schools offering online bachelor’s programs, adding six new ranking factors to this year’s methodology and highlighting schools’ strong student support and return on investment.
At Kennesaw State, more than 3,000 students take online courses each year, with students earning their bachelor’s, master’s, specialist and doctoral degrees through a mix of fully online, hybrid and mixed model learning formats.
In addition to the BestColleges.com ranking, U.S. News & World Report ranked Kennesaw State among its national universities in the 2019 Best Colleges list and as a top public university nationally for its admissions yield rate. The publication also recognized other KSU online programs among its best nationally in 2019, including the online MBA (No. 21), graduate IT program (No. 38) and graduate engineering programs (No. 59).
