Get into the Holiday Spirit at KSU

KENNESAW, Ga. | Nov 26, 2019

Celebrate the season with music and theatre

You will want to dance like a Sugar Plum Fairy from “The Nutcracker” when you hear about the holiday music concerts planned at Kennesaw State University. Get into the holiday spirit with not one, not two, but three holiday shows at KSU.

Holiday Concert
"Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” with the School of Music’s Holiday Concert on Dec. 6 at 8 p.m. which will livestream from the Morgan Concert Hall of the Bailey Performance Center on the Kennesaw campus. The sold-out concert will feature a variety of holiday jingles, including popular carols. You will know that “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” soon as you enjoy performances by the KSU Symphony Orchestra, the KSU Wind Ensemble, as well as several of the KSU choirs.

“There’s No Place Like Home for the Holidays,” and there’s no place like KSU to celebrate the season. The Department of Theatre and Performance Studies will get you “Rockin’ around the Christmas Tree” with their Holiday Benefit Performance on Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Stillwell Theater on the Kennesaw campus. Coordinated by faculty in the department, the performance is a celebratory compilation of beloved holiday songs, music, and stories, and will be performed by students. All proceeds from this performance benefit theatre and performance studies majors pursuing an upcoming study abroad program. Tickets are $10 at the door only.

Finally, experience a “Winter Wonderland” with a special performance by the KSU Community and Alumni Choir (KSUCAC) entitled “Love Came Down at Christmas,” featuring baritone Michael Dauterman and the Vega Quartet, led by Artistic Director Dr. Reid Masters. This performance will be held at the Morgan Concert Hall of the Bailey Performance Center on the Kennesaw campus on Dec. 12 at 8 p.m. KSUCAC, a nonprofit organization, brings together former graduates of the KSU Music department, as well as KSU faculty, staff, students, and community members each season to share the joy of music. All members perform on a volunteer basis, and proceeds for this performance will benefit the organization’s community outreach programs to engage the greater Atlanta community in musical performance and education. Tickets are $12-15.

"Have a Holly Jolly Christmas” at Kennesaw State University College of the Arts. To buy tickets for the KSU Community and Alumni Choir performance, please visit ticketing.kennesaw.edu. Tickets for the Department of Theatre and Performance Studies’ Holiday Benefit Performance will be sold at the door only. The School of Music Holiday Concert on December 6 is sold out, but you may livestream the concert.
