University System of Georgia initiative set for Nov. 11-15

Kennesaw State will observe Ethics Awareness Week Nov. 11-15 with a keynote speaker and several programs to promote the University’s core value of ethical behavior and conduct.

Ethics Awareness Week is part of the University System of Georgia’s comprehensive Ethics and Compliance Program. Throughout the week, activities and events will bring awareness to ethics, reinforce a culture that recognizes the hard work of all employees, and promote the shared values of integrity, excellence, accountability and respect among KSU’s campus community.

Cobb County District Attorney Joyette Holmes will be the featured speaker on Wednesday, Nov. 13. Holmes’ talk at 11 a.m. will be followed by a question-and-answer session, in Prillaman Hall room 1105.

Programs will cover topics ranging from “How Not to be the Mentor Students Avoid” to “Real-World Student Ethical Dilemmas.” Highlights of the week include:

“History of Unethical Human Experimentation: Where Do We Go From Here?”

“You Work for Them!? How Not to be the Mentor Students Avoid”

“Top Tips to Avoid Trouble: Real-World Student Ethical Dilemmas”
Thursday, Nov. 14: 1 – 2 p.m., Marietta Campus, Student Center room A214
Friday, Nov. 15: 1 – 2 p.m., Kennesaw Campus, Burruss Building room 114

“Intellectual Property Issues in Academia”
Friday, Nov. 15: 12:30 – 1:30 p.m., Marietta Campus, Building Q room 216
