ASUN athletes recognized for excellence on and off the field

Kennesaw State cross country senior Kidan Kidane has been named to the fall 2016 semester Winners for Life Team by the Atlantic Sun Conference.

The Winners for Life Team honors student-athletes who share and/or demonstrate the ASUN core values: education, honesty, student-athlete experience, fairness, health, ambition, respect, diversity, inclusion, leadership, responsibility and sportsmanship. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must have competed in the current academic year in an ASUN-sponsored sport and be in good academic standing at his/her university.

Kidane has been a standout runner in cross country and track and field for the Owls. She has been on the dean’s list four semesters in a row and owns a cumulative grade point average of 3.51, majoring in exercise science.

She has finished second at the ASUN Cross Country Championships twice and has earned eight top-five finishes and two medals in cross country during her outstanding career. In the community, Kidane has been a volunteer for the Atlanta Bike Rally, MADD Dash and Walk Like MADD, and several other engagements.
