    Kennesaw State economic impact climbs to more than $2 billion in 2022

    Kennesaw State University had an economic impact of $2.03 billion on Georgia in fiscal year 2022, according to a University System of Georgia (USG) report released Tuesday. Kennesaw State’s economic impact in FY 2022 marked an 10.3% increase from $1.84 billion the previous year, while the University System of Georgia’s economic impact grew by 4.14% over fiscal year 2021.

    Luke Hardaway had always loved the outdoors, but he found his happy place when he joined a community of nature lovers at Kennesaw State University. Hardaway joined Nature Bound, an outdoor recreation program offered to students through the Department of Sports and Recreation and Outdoor Adventures, in 2022 and said it provided him a close-knit community of people with similar interests within his college community. He’s gone on to serve as a guide on whitewater kayak trips for the program, as well as for whitewater rafting trips with area businesses.
