Our History

In 2002,  Kennesaw State University students and local Maya refugees joined together to hold a workshop on Maya history, language and culture; in 2003 the University System of Georgia Office of International Education gave funds for a conference on the Maya, and thus began the Maya Heritage Community Project.

What began as a workshop with KSU students and local Maya refugees, evolved into a conference funded by the University System of Georgia, fostering cross-cultural understanding. We invite you to learn more and engage with our efforts by contacting the Maya Heritage Project today!
