Faculty Tools to Design an Inquiry for SoTL
The aim of Hopscotch 4-Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) is to provide faculty with a tool to assist them in designing a thorough inquiry process to promote the development of a SoTL design.
As defined by the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) at Kennesaw State University and drawing on Felten’s (2013) recommendations, the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) is systematic inquiry into student learning and/or one’s own teaching practices in higher education which is situated in context and involves methodologically sound application of appropriate research methods, peer review, and distribution as scholarly work.
