The Journey of a Lifetime

KSU Italy is more than a trip – it's a transformative educational experience we’ve been proud to offer students since 1999! Learn from your fellow Owls where your education can take you.

To say my trip to Italy was enriching and fun would be an understatement. As an art major, it was surreal to see so many beautiful works from the statue of David by Michelangelo to the frescoes in Pompeii and so much more. I will never forget the vast, lush green from the countryside of Tuscany or the infinite miles of sunflowers I saw when traveling by train.

The summer of 2022 was like a dream to say the least. As I boarded a flight with 26 other students, from around GA I was not sure as to what I was going to experience. But it was this uncertainty that made my whole study abroad trip to the beautiful scenic village of Montepulciano a great decision. To get exposure to different a country and culture and learn a different lifestyle, has had a profound effect on me, having a different perspective to my everyday life and being more open-minded. I recommend this program to everyone who wants to leave their shell and experience a different perspective on life.

As an Art History major, I was looking for a program that would help explore my passion for art in Italy. For five weeks, I got to experience the art of Italy and adored every moment of being immersed in the culture.

Through this program, I was able to connect with the locals and experience the sweetness of those who lived in Montepulciano. I am so thankful to have experienced a European country with Kennesaw State and to stay in such a darling small town such as Montepulciano.

I loved traveling with KSU Italy because of the community that we built as a group of students and faculty. It felt like family. We spent so much time together by going on trips and spent almost every evening together for amazing dinners hosted by the Trattoria in Montepulciano. It was so much more than just taking some classes in a foreign country. We established friendships with people we wouldn’t have met otherwise and made memories in a place most people will never visit

This trip changed my everyday life by helping me transition into my independent adulthood life. I was on the trip when I was only 18 and at that point, I was still very dependent. The moment I got to Italy and met everyone in my group I realized how much I enjoyed making my own decision and being an adult responsible for my own self. Because of Italy I was able to easily make that transition
