Why should faculty use Early Alert by EAB Navigate?

  • YOU can make a positive impact on students' GPAs!
  • Students earned a higher GPA after they got alerted and met with an academic advisor.
  • Promote student retention.
  • Alerting students can encourage them to use academic support - like academic Advising, SI, SMART Center, Writing Center, or academic success coaches.
  • Data from previous semesters show that students who receive an alert early are more likely to continue their education when they use outside classroom support.
  • Communicate good effort!  Students who receive a High Five will be encouraged and applauded for their efforts

What can be reported?

The following academic observations can be reported through Early Alert:

  • Attendance Concerns /No Online Course Engagement
  • Missing Assignments
  • Needs Time Management /Study Skills
  • Needs Tutoring
  • Needs to Discuss Grade with Instructor

Early Alert is easy to use

  • After a student is alerted, the academic support offices will follow up with the student.
  • Faculty need to provide only one alert per student.
  • Multiple students can be alerted at once.
  • The system is open all semester to submit alert.
  • A reminder will be sent mid semester about the deadlines.
  • An email will be sent out by Sarah Matta containing the link to the flagged class roster(s) in EAB Navigate beginning September 2nd.

When is the Deadline?

Early Alert deadlines are around October and February.
