In addition to providing documentation necessary to begin the employment relationship
and activate compensation, KSU's Faculty & Staff Orientation conducted by Human Resources
provides an opportunity for new employees to explore applicable benefit plans, gain
insight into other fringe benefits, and learn more about KSU and its structure.
HR will provide you a checklist from new employee orientation. Please complete this checklist to ensure all of your onboarding items are addressed. Make sure to select your benefits within thirty days of your start date. You will also have to complete a dependent verification process and document proof of dependency. You should receive instructions and due dates for this via mail. Your dependents will not be covered until this process is complete. You will also receive communication in the mail about the retirement account that you selected which will give you instructions on picking a beneficiary. For any questions about this checklist, you will want to contact your HR Generalist (see below).

FERPA for Faculty and Staff
FERPA (the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974) allows students to place a Restriction on their Directory Information. This Restriction prevents the disclosure of any information on this student including the fact that they are in fact a student at KSU. However, the law has recently been modified to clarify that a student may not choose to be anonymous within the classroom setting, whether in a traditional or distance learning class, by placing a Restriction on their records. Disclosure of personally identifiable information, such as the student’s name and email address, as required by the instructors and classroom setting for purposes of conducting the class and class activities is permissible under FERPA.
Maintaining confidentiality of student records is everyone's responsibility at KSU. Why? It's federal law. University employees who have access or have requested access to systems that contain student record information will be required to review this tutorial before access is permitted. Employees may be asked periodically to review and acknowledge their understanding of this information to remain current with federal regulations.
FERPA training information can be found at the following Registrar’s Office link: https://www.kennesaw.edu/ferpa/resources.php

Click "Add all articles" next to each article group that is yours, or "See all articles" to add specific articles from that group. If you don't see your articles in these groups, click "Search articles" to do a regular Google Scholar search, and then add your articles one at a time. You may now view your profile. Add any finishing touches - upload your professional looking photo, visit your university email inbox and click on the verification link, double check the list of articles, and, once you're completely satisfied, make your profile public. |
