Program Eligibility

Are you a first-time, full-time undergraduate student? Are you a First-Generation Student? Or are you a First-Generation Underrepresented STEM Student? The Coca-Cola Scholars program invites you to apply!

Admission to the program is limited. Prospective students must meet the following criteria:

  • Only first-time undergraduate students to KSU are eligible (applicants should apply upon being accepted to KSU)
  • Demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Student Financial Aid i.e., completion of the 2018 FAFSA Application
  • Be eligible to receive the HOPE Scholarship upon admission to KSU
  • Have and be able to maintain a minimum adjusted GPA of 2.75 at KSU
  • Self-identify as a First-Generation college student matriculating in any major or as First-Generation underrepresented student in a STEM major

Please remember…

  • Scholarships are not transferable to another institution

 

How to Apply

The scholarship application can be found under the Financial Aid tab within your Owl Express portal. 

STEPS:

Step 1:  Go to  https://owlexpress.kennesaw.edu/ 

Step 2:  Click Login

Step 3:  Authenticate

Note:  You will need to authenticate by using your assigned KSU NetID and entering your password

Step 4:  Click The Financial Aid Tab  

Step 5:  Click Scholarship Application

Step 6:  Complete one easy application. 

Step 7:   Remember to answer the Coca-Cola Essay Question:  As a first-generation college student, which individual(s) or life experience/event impacted your decision to go to college?

Step 8: Answer all the questions

Step 9: Save and Submit 

Things to Remember:

  • Have available all your information, including extracurricular activities, and volunteer information
  • Before writing your essay review the tips on the FAQ Your writing skills will be a part of the evaluation process. Check your essays for spelling and grammatical errors before submitting. 

Note:  Students are matched to all scholarship for which they are eligible by applying just once each academic year.
