Congratulations to the recipients of the HPCC Systems Teaching Fellows Grant 2023. The following faculty members have been selected to participate in this program:
The Kennesaw State University Graduate College hosted its 3-Minute Thesis (3MT) challenging master’s and doctoral students to condense their research into a three-minute oral presentation. Sudhashree Sayenju won first place for her presentation titled, “Quantification and Mitigation of Biases in Deep NLP Models.” Sayenju is mentored by Ramazan Aygun in the School of Data Science and Analytics.
Congratulations to Dr. Rifatul Islam for his Outstanding PH.D Dissertation Award. The award recognizes outstanding and innovative work by doctoral students. Dr. Rifatul Islam is Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science.
Dr. Hassan Pournaghshband received the Governor’s Teaching Fellow. Governor's Teaching Fellows may participate in either an academic-year symposia or an intensive summer symposium, which are held at the Institute of Higher Education. Ms. Lavanya Pondichery Sekar successfully completed the entire series of Academic Assessment and received the Assessment Foundations Digital Certificate.
Kennesaw State partners with Equifax to advance research in artificial intelligence with new AI Ethics Lab. The new research lab will focus on studying the use of artificial intelligence in the U.S. financial services industry. The Lab’s director is MinJae Woo, assistant professor of statistics and data science.
Kennesaw State to offer bachelor’s degree in data science and analytics! The undergraduate degree rounds out a full suite of degree opportunities in the discipline, joining the University’s existing master’s and doctoral degree programs. The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia approved the degree at its meeting on April 19, and the program will welcome its first group of students in August 2023.
