Working with Students
Students who need help academically
- Submit an Early Alert report for students at-risk of being unsuccessful in class.
- Tutoring for CCSE classes is available in J-253 Lexis Nexis Open Lab and Math tutoring is available from the SMART center.
- The Writing Center makes writing for any class easier and more effective. Peer writing assistants will work with students in person or online to help them develop a topic, organize their research, revise and edit drafts, document their sources, and much more.
- The CCSE Advising Team can help students with time management, study, and planning skills.
Keep High-Achieving Students Challenged
- The Honors College offers programs for highly talented and motivated students.
- Research can engage and challenge high-achieving students in new ways.
- Vertically Integrated Projects (VIP) are an opportunity for students to gain valuable research skills and academic credit through their participation in faculty research
- Double Owl Pathways affords undergraduate students the opportunity to obtain their undergrad and graduate degrees faster and at a lower cost.
Get Students More Engaged
- The CCSE Mentoring Program is available for students to participate as mentees and peer mentors.
- CCSE Events are held every semester and are a great opportunity for networking.
- Student Organizations are groups of students that share a common interest or goal.
- Encourage students to pursue an internship or co-op experience.
Students who need non-academic assistance
- The Dean of Students can assist students experiencing a hardship to do an emergency withdrawal.
- Students facing housing, food, or financial instability can use CARE Services.
- Free group and individual counseling is available for all enrolled students.
- Submit a Behavioral Response Team report to flag a student you are concerned about.

Student-related Policies & Procedures
- Grade Appeal Portal
- Students disputing their final grade in a course should first talk with the faculty member informally to seek a resolution.
- Final grade disputes that are not resolved informally must follow the KSU Grade Appeal process (section 3.6).
- The Department of Student Conduct and Academic Integrity has an Academic Integrity Resolution Process to follow in the event of cheating/plagiarism.
