Why Should I Attend?

Benefits of Owl Trek Site Visits for Students 

  • Visit a company to see how it runs on a daily basis
  • Get a real look into different career paths you can potentially take
  • Use this time as a “pre-interview” for potential internship, co-op or job opportunities
  • See different ways you can incorporate your major into a career
  • See the specific benefits or unique perks to working for a specific company, and see what their work culture is like
  • Practice using professionalism and gain some hands-on experience networking with other professionals

These opportunities will be available at a variety of companies over the course of the semester:

  • Each site visit will last 2-4 hours 
  • Students will register to attend in handshake and, if selected, will be expected to attend an orientation to review proper dress and etiquitte.

The objectives of this program include:

  • Observation opportunities to see what a career field looks like “in real life”
  • Connect classroom learning with workplace experience
  • Broaden the view of opportunities for students at many different companies
  • Create a starting point for learning how to network with professionals
  • Practice professionalism and business etiquette
  • Help to define potential career paths after graduation

  • Spots fill on a first come first serve basis. If the event reaches its full capacity, any remaining students will be placed on a waitlist. If a spot opens up, or we are able to expand the roster for event attendance, we'll contact you.
  • A mandatory student orientation will be provided leading up to the site visit and will prepare students for meeting with employers by giving professional tips, informing of the site visit details, what to wear, and how to interact.
  • The program is open to all majors and classifications and is open regardless of GPA. 
  • Please contact the Department of Career Planning and Development at 470-578-2724.
  • Between 2-4 hours. 
  • Unless there is an emergency, you will be held to the Department’s Job Shadow Program “No Show” policy. You can find a copy of this policy on our website here

  • Click the "Register" button in the top right corner of the event.
  • Complete the registration form.
