Application Status

FIRST TIME CHECKING YOUR STATUS?

Look up your NetID and KSU Number - available 24–48 hours after your application is submitted.
Read about the Initial Login and Password Information and click the button to Activate your NetID.

  1. Activate your NetID by changing the initial password.
  2. Log into Owl Express using your NetID and newly created password.
  3. From the Main Menu tab, select “Check Admissions Status” and the "Pathway to Enrollment" to view your current application and enrollment status; please allow ample time for receipt and processing.

Processing time varies based on number of applicants and time of year.

Out-of-State Waivers and Scholarships

Each year, the Kennesaw State University Office of Undergraduate Admissions invites incoming out-of-state and international students that demonstrate academic achievement, community involvement and leadership skills to apply for an Out-of-State Waiver and Scholarship.

Recipients who receive a waiver qualify for in-state tuition but are responsible for all applicable fees. There are a limited number of waivers available and the application for a waiver is competitive.

Application Deadlines:

  • Spring 2025 -  December 9, 2024
  • Summer 2025 - May 1, 2025
  • Fall 2025 - July 1, 2025

IMPORTANT

Recipients of the Out-of-State Waiver and Scholarship must maintain satisfactory academic performance which will be reviewed each semester. The waiver is valid up to eight semesters and will be renewed each semester for students who have maintained a 2.5 grade point average and have earned 12 semester hours each academic term (fall and spring).

 

Out-of-State Eligibility: 

First Time Freshmen

  • Accepted into Kennesaw State University.
  • Have a High School GPA of 3.2 as determined by KSU.
  • Must be on track to complete Required High School Curriculum.
  • Home Educated applicants will be considered based on meeting the SAT/ACT standard only.
  • Submit an essay explaining why you should receive a waiver.
  • Preference will be given to students who have exceeded GPA requirements and demonstrate superior academic potential.

Transfer Students

  • Accepted into Kennesaw State University.
  • Have earned at least 30 semester hours or 50 quarter hours that will transfer to KSU.
  • Have a Transfer GPA of 3.0 in their college coursework. The cumulative transfer GPA for admission eligibility is calculated on all academic work attempted from all institutions attended. If a course is repeated, then both grades are calculated.
  • Submit an essay explaining why you should receive a waiver.
  • Preference will be given to students who have exceeded GPA requirements and demonstrate superior academic potential.

  • Have a minimum 3.3 or higher GPA as calculated by KSU.
  • Submit an essay explaining why you should receive a waiver.
  • Preference will be given to students who have exceeded GPA requirements and demonstrate superior academic potential.

International First Time Freshman

  • Accepted to Kennesaw State University.
  • Have a minimum of a 3.3 or higher GPA listed on student’s foreign credential evaluation.
  • Submit an essay explaining why you should receive a waiver.
  • Preference will be given to students who have exceeded GPA requirements and demonstrate superior academic potential.

Domestic Transfer Student

  • Accepted to Kennesaw State University.
  • Have a minimum 3.0 or higher GPA as calculated by KSU.
  • Submit an essay explaining why you should receive a waiver.
  • Preference will be given to students who have exceeded GPA requirements and demonstrate superior academic potential.

International Transfer Student

  • Accepted to Kennesaw State University.
  • Have a minimum of 3.0 or higher GPA listed on student’s foreign credential evaluation.

Kennesaw State University values the work high school counselors do in challenging students. We want to give you the tools you need to help your college-bound students learn about Kennesaw State University and have the information needed when applying. If you don’t find something here you need, please call the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at 470-KSU-INFO (470-578-4636) to speak with a college admissions counselor.

High School Prerequisites for Kennesaw State Freshmen

Students accepted to Kennesaw State have taken college preparatory programs in high school. Kennesaw State follows the Georgia Board of Regents required high school coursework. For the most updated version of the required courses, see Staying on Course.

English — 4 credits: All four courses must have strong grammar and composition components with at least one English literature and at least one American literature.

Mathematics — 4 credits: These include Mathematics I, II, III and a fourth unit of mathematics
from an approved list, or Algebra I and II, geometry and a fourth year of
advanced math, or equivalent courses.

Foreign Language — 2 credits: Must be two units of the same foreign language (or
American Sign Language) emphasizing speaking,
listening, reading and writing skills.

Social Sciences — 3 credits: Must include one unit focusing on US studies and one unit focusing on world studies.

Laboratory Science — 4 credits: The four science units should include two courses with a laboratory component. Georgia public high school graduates should have at least one unit of biology, one unit of physical science or physics, one unit of chemistry, earth systems, environmental science, or an advanced placement course, and a fourth science.
