Episode 4: October 2, 2020
In the fourth episode of the fall season, the featured faculty researchers included Dr. Greg Phelan, assistant professor of economics, and Dr. Heidi Holmes, a visiting assistant professor of economics at Kennesaw State University. They are in the Department of Economics, Finance, and Quantitative Analysis and researchers in the Education Economics Center, both in Coles College of Business.
They discussed their individual projects focused on evaluating educational programs targeted at groups of disadvantaged students in higher education and K-12, respectively to inform both local and state education policies.
Learn more about Dr. Greg Phelan and Dr. Heidi Holmes!Dr. Phelan, who joined the university in 2019, focuses his research on the economics of education, particularly studying students’ access and success in higher education. He received a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Political Economy from the University of Texas at Dallas.
Dr. Holmes, who has been at KSU for a year, focuses on educational policy, particularly on the educational and social emotional impacts of culturally enriching field trips. She earned a Ph.D. in Educational Policy from the University of Arkansas.
