Ramazan Aygün, director of Research Computing and associate Professor of computer science in the School of Data Science and Analytics in the College of Computing and Software Engineering, was the featured guest on March 4. He discussed his research on protein crystallization and research computing.

Aygün spent most of his academic career at the University of Alabama in Huntsville as a professor in the Computer Science Department. His research on protein crystalization led him to be a co-author of a book titled, “Data Analytics for Protein Crystallization.”

He has worked on diverse research related to data mining, data modeling, data communications, cybersecurity, bioinformatics, machinelearning, big data analytics, robotics, and more.

Aygün has a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
