In the first episode of the fall season, Dr. Linda Treiber, professor of sociology in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences was featured with special guest, Dr. Jackie Jones, professor emerita of nursing, who recently retired from the WellStar School of Health and Human Services. The research team, who have been working together over the last 12 years, discussed the causes and consequences of medication errors among registered nurses.
Learn more about Dr. Linda Treiber!Dr. Treiber, earned a Master of Science degree in Nursing from The Ohio State University and a Ph.D. in sociology from North Carolina State University. Before finishing her doctorate, she was a practicing registered nurse in cardiac care, diabetes, and community health for around twenty years. As a medical sociologist, she studies medication errors and the meanings of illness.
Dr. Jones holds a Master of Science degree in Nursing from Vanderbilt University and an Ed.D. in higher education from the University of Georgia. A nurse educator for 20 years, she has extensive experience as a clinician, primarily in acute and critical care. Her primary research focuses on medication errors.
