Protecting Minors in KSU Hosted Programs

Kennesaw State University (KSU or the University) periodically conducts, sponsors, or hosts programs designed to serve minors not enrolled as KSU students, including but not limited to camps, clinics, competitions, mentoring and other activities.

KSU is dedicated to providing a safe and healthy environment for those who participate, volunteer and work in University sponsored programs, or programs operated by third parties held on University facilities.

In conjunction with BOR Policy - Programs Serving Minors Kennesaw State University established KSU Programs Serving Minors Policy on May 1, 2017.  This policy governs all KSU programs involving minors to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and the BOR/USG policies. Key areas of focus under this policy are registration, education and compliance.

KSU staff, faculty and sponsoring departments of programs that involve minors should review the Program Serving Minors website, training and resources to become familiar with the policies, procedures and requirements needed to comply with both BOR and KSU policies.

The Board of Regents (BOR) of the University System of Georgia (USG) - Programs Serving Minors policy applies to outside organizations and groups that may use institutional facilities for programs serving non-student minors. The effective date for this policy is Monday, May 1, 2017.
