Feminist Socio-Political Academic Studies
Greetings!
It is with great pleasure that we here present the eleventh volume of The Kennesaw Tower to our esteemed readers.
In this volume, we find exemplary undergraduate scholarly studies in French and Spanish that span across centuries, oceans, and traditions. For example, Danita Mathew’s piece offers a contemporary feminist analysis of three poems that incorporate the female form from 16th and 19th-century Spanish male poets. Aditya Gandhi explores the interconnectedness of literary, social, and political revolutions spanning the 19th and 20th Centuries. Cameron Wilson studies two Argentine comic strips to engage in socio-political analysis of governmental limitations. Finally, Paris Jensen analyzes the significance of the word “we” as a tool for linguistic identity through a close reading of a documentary on a Canadian bilingual family. Luminaries that appear in the works of these emerging scholars include Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer, Honoré de Balzac, Roland Barthes, Albert Camus, Garcilaso de la Vega, Jacques Derrida, Joachim du Bellay, Martha Nussbaum, Nathalie Sarraute, and Quino, to name a few.
The Kennesaw Tower provides a venue for undergraduate students of languages and Foreign Language Education to publish their multi-lingual research. As such, The Kennesaw Tower is one-of-a-kind. This publication would not be possible without the support of our generous Editorial Board members and external reviewers who donate their time and energy to this endeavor. We are consistently impressed by our authors, who earnestly engage in the editing process upon receiving feedback in order to strengthen their contributions and produce the final manuscripts here presented.
Please join us in enjoying and engaging with this enriching undergraduate scholarly work.
If you have any questions about their work, the journal, or our commitment to publishing undergraduate research in multiple languages, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Dr. Abigail Alexander
