A highlight of each "Year Of" program is the international conference. For the Year of the Arabian Peninsula, the event was titled "Women of Oman: Changing Roles and Transnational Influence," and focused on the progress made by Omani women since Sultan Qaboos took came to power in the 1970s. Guests included the first Omani women to reach a ministerial rank, and the first woman to represent an Arab country as an ambassador.

Religious freedom is a core value for the people of Oman. Throughout October 2014, the exhibit "Tolerance - Understanding - Coexistence: Oman's Message of Islam" was on display in the Social Sciences Atrium. The exhibit came to Kennesaw thanks to the efforts of Oman's Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, and has appeared in Brazil, Germany, and Spain.

On September 20, 2014, Kennesaw State partnered with Alif Institute to host the KSU Arabic Festival, featuring hand painting, calligraphy, music, dance and food.
Patriots & Peacemakers Photos
The first student-focused event for the Year of the Arabian Peninsula was an art exhibit honoring Arab-Americans who have fought in the U.S. Armed Forces. "Patriots & Peacemakers: Arab-Americans in Service to Our Country" ran from August 18 to September 23, 2014. It featured historical narratives highlighting Arab-Americans' contributions to the armed forces, diplomatic services, and the Peace Corps.
