Identity plays a major role for travelers and we are bringing that to the forefront of this episode. Angelica and Erin welcome Dani Alexander, Program Coordinator for the LGBTQ Resource Center and Women’s Resource Center, as we discuss travel preparation and packing, cultural nuances, allyship, finding your tribe and embracing your identity while cultivating an incredible experience abroad.

In this episode, Angelica and Erin talk mental health within the world of international education; from sharing well-being methods for cushioning culture shock, to locating healthcare providers abroad and managing medication, to life after being abroad.

The new year is here and hopefully it will bring with it new horizons! Join us as we speak with Nicole Meanor, Senior Program Coordinator at Education Abroad, about what to expect when traveling for the first time, whether you are participating in a short-term or long-term education abroad program. We’ll offer valuable tips on passports, first time flights, the journey of cultural adjustment, and more!

Episode 5: Traveling Abroad as a Person of Color

Join us for this month’s episode as we invite Brandon Jackson, Associate Director of Kennesaw State University’s Cultural and Community Centers, and discuss traveling abroad as a person of color. In this episode, we address different resources you can use before, during, and after your international experiences. Along with sharing advice on maneuvering through conversations around identity abroad and sharing your story to inspire others, we also focus on allyship amongst faculty, staff, and fellow study abroad participants.
