Master of Science in Nursing - Nurse Practitioner

The Wellstar Primary Care Nurse Practitioner MSN program will prepare you to function as a primary caregiver. With accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, you can enjoy more career autonomy and have significant career potential. After graduating, you’ll also be prepared for national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (NP).

Shortest Nurse Practitioner Program in Georgia

This program is conducted on KSU’s Kennesaw campus on alternate weekends and is the shortest nurse practitioner program in Georgia, with only four semesters that can be completed in 15 months.

Emphasis on Practicum Experiences

The Primary Care Nurse Practitioner courses provide hands-on training and in-depth knowledge focusing on practicum experiences. Courses explore healthcare theory, pharmacology, research, assessment, clinical management, diversity, and other concepts necessary for success as a Nurse Practitioner.

The program has a broad array of practicum sites in north Georgia, so you can put your skills to work and expand your professional network. Admissions Requirements

GRE, One Year of Experience Required

The need for skilled and experienced nurse practitioners has increased dramatically in recent years, thus this program does not require GRE. It does require one year of full-time professional experience as a Registered Nurse (which must have occurred within the last five years and have involved direct patient care). You must also have a baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from a nationally accredited institution with a satisfactory grade-point average of at least 3.0. Program admission is very competitive so be sure to submit your application, application fee, and all required documents by the deadline: Dec. 5.

Online Graduate Application - There is a non-refundable $60 application fee
Transcripts - Official transcripts from EACH College and/or University you have attended. Must be in a sealed envelope from the institution or sent electronically from the institution directly to ksugrad@kennesaw.edu.

Statement of Personal Goals - Can be uploaded into the online application. A formal statement of personal goals for the program, maximum of 2 pages, double-spaced, that includes the following:
- Your experience in the field, including volunteer experience.
- Your reason(s) for choosing this degree program.
- Your experience with research (if applicable).
- Your career goals and how furthering your education with this degree will help you realize these goals.

Resume or Curriculum Vitae - Can be uploaded into the online application. Should include the following when applicable: education, experience (work and volunteer), certifications, professional affiliations, special skills related to the field, and research presentations/publications
Two Letters of Recommendation - Can be sent electronically through the online application. Preferably from academic sources.
Undergraduate Course - in research documented on transcripts.
