Winter Weather Campus Update
Out of an abundance of caution, Kennesaw State University will move to modified operations on Tuesday, January 21. All in-person classes will convert to remote instruction protocols determined by each instructor. Students should refer to course syllabi or D2L for details on how learning will continue during Modified Operations. All online classes will continue as scheduled. The M.Ed. in Elementary and Early Childhood Education at Kennesaw State University is for certified Early Childhood Education teachers who want to continue to increase their knowledge and expertise in the Early Childhood Education field and improve their teaching practices.
The program allows certified teachers in Elementary education (P-5) to earn their M.Ed. in 13 months while continuing their teaching careers.
The program is entirely online and taught in a cohort format. Each cohort (group of students you begin classes with) is supported by graduate faculty who will mentor you and facilitate program delivery.
The course schedule is provided in advance so you can coordinate your work and personal commitments. Each semester's course start and end dates coincide as closely as possible with the public school calendar.
In addition to completing the elementary education master's degree requirements, you’ll also earn an endorsement of KSU certificate as part of your degree requirements. This further enhances your marketability in the teaching profession.

This stand-alone certificate does not lead to certification; however, candidates who complete the certificate program may transfer up to 9 graduate credits into the M.Ed. in Special Education.
