Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science 

The Exercise Science degree at Kennesaw State University’s Wellstar College is a scientifically based program designed for you to meet the needs in the exercise science profession by developing your existing knowledge, honing your skills and growing your abilities as you learn through various domains.

As an exercise science major, you’ll learn through hands-on experiences in laboratory, community and healthcare settings. The Exercise Science degree is a diversified program that provides both introductory and advanced coursework, laboratory experiences and the opportunity for practical application of knowledge through community and research-based experiences.

You can also continue through postgraduate study in exercise science or other health-related disciplines, including physical therapy, occupational therapy and medical programs. The Exercise Science degree will also prepare you for professional certifications through the American College of Sports Medicine, National Strength and Conditioning Associate and International Society for Sports Nutrition.

  • Internships - Wellstar offers exercise science internships for Exercise Science students where you can elect to earn academic credit for internship experiences in the Major Field Elective area or the Free Elective area.

  • Hands-On – The KSU Exercise Science Physiology Laboratory is well-equipped and you will have access to a host of equipment that allows for the assessment of body composition, muscular fitness, neuromuscular function, aerobic capacity, metabolic function, and other relevant physical performance and health outcomes. The lab allows for the best experience in hands-on experiments such as microbiopsy, venipuncture, electrocardiography, and air displacement plethysmography.

  • Enhanced Technology - Wellstar College has “smart” classrooms incorporating top-notch technology to make learning less difficult and more efficient.
