Kennesaw State University is launching its redesigned Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) program, called Hy Flex, starting in Fall 2024. While the EMBA program previously required students to attend exclusively in person, the new program combines online classes and in-person experiential learning to mirror the innovation and adaptability needed in today's evolving business landscape.
The Hy Flex EMBA program emphasizes flexibility and adaptability, enabling students to choose to attend weekend classes on-campus or remotely throughout the program, switching between the two models based on their availability The only exception is that students are required to attend orientation, the opening residency, and the international residencies in person. This change to the formerly in-person only EMBA program means students can integrate the courses into their schedules and maintain valuable work-life balance.
“As leaders in their organizations, our EMBA students have countless demands on their time,” said Robin Cheramie, dean of the Michael J. Coles College of Business, which houses KSU’s EMBA program. “By allowing students the freedom to attend classes in person or online, it allows us to meet our students where they are without compromising any of the coursework, teaming, and leadership training that makes the KSU EMBA a world-class program.”
In addition to increasing how students engage with the EMBA program, the change to Hy Flex brings curriculum enhancements as well. Students can take new courses on business-critical topics like decision-making and artificial intelligence, digital transformation, sustainability management, and more. They can also earn integrated micro-credentials in areas such as generative AI, managerial coaching, and evidence-based Management.
A hallmark of Kennesaw State’s EMBA program has always been leadership development, and that does not change under Hy Flex. Students in the program will continue to receive personalized teaming, coaching, and mentorship opportunities to help them refine their leadership skills.
All EMBA students are still required to attend the program’s capstone international residency consulting project. This hands-on experience creates opportunities for students to develop global perspectives and prepares them to navigate culturally diverse business environments.
"We are excited to unveil the Hy Flex program," said Thomas Devaney, Executive Director of Executive MBA Programs for the Michael J. Coles College of Business at Kennesaw State University. "Our innovative curriculum, flexible learning options, and emphasis on leadership development reflect our commitment to providing a transformative educational experience that prepares leaders to thrive in an ever-evolving global marketplace."
The fresh take on the EMBA program that Hy Flex brings aims to produce successful leaders who can navigate the changing world of technology, global business, and the relationship between the two.
