Strategic Workshop: Navigating Family Dynamics During the Generational Transition Process for Family Businesses
Strategic Workshop: Navigating Family Dynamics During the Generational Transition Process for Family Businesses
    12:00pm
    at Cox Family Enterprise Center

Family businesses are one of the oldest types of commercial organizations representing the largest number of economic ventures world-wide. The success and sustainability of family businesses is often related to the ability to transfer leadership and ownership to a successor generation.

This process is often impacted by internal conflict among family members, poor communication, and murky expectations, causing many businesses to fail after the first generation. However, simultaneously engaging family dynamics along with a business and legal assessment, evaluation, and implementation process leads to ideal outcomes to help family businesses succeed for generations to come.

Join John Martin and Morgan Weatherly, PhD, LPC of Treebank Legal as they guide family business leaders in this Strategic Workshop. Participants will:

    • Learn key components of the legal process for succession planning.
    • Understand the process of identifying and navigating common family dynamics and communication strategies to aid in the process.
    • Be provided with resources for how to begin thinking about succession planning.
