Saif Haq has been named chair of the Kennesaw State University Department of Architecture, effective July 1.
Reporting to the dean of the College of Architecture and Construction Management (CACM),
Haq will be responsible for providing administrative oversight and academic leadership
to the department and will hold decision-making authority at the department level
for all aspects in the operation of his area.
“I am delighted to welcome Dr. Haq to the KSU family," said CACM dean Hazem Rashed-Ali. "Dr. Haq’s previous administrative leadership experience and his extensive achievements as an educator, a researcher and a scholar align strongly with KSU’s culture and with the university’s vision of achieving national prominence as a public university known for education, research, and community programs that foster inquiry and advance society. I am looking forward to working with him to chart the next chapter of success for the Department of Architecture and its faculty, staff, and students.”
Haq is currently a tenured professor in the Huckabee College of Architecture at Texas
Tech University. In more than 25 years at Texas Tech, he served in multiple administrative
roles including associate dean for academics and associate dean for research, director
of the design for health program, interim director of the urban and community design
program, and director of the interdisciplinary Ph.D. program.

Haq holds a Ph.D. from the Georgia Institute of Technology, a Master of Science in
Architecture from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Architecture
from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (B.U.E.T).
