The 40 Owls Under 40 program presented by the KSU Alumni Association recognizes alumni who are taking bold strides in their industry and community and proudly representing KSU in all they do. 

Each nominee will be reviewed and ranked using the following criteria: 

  • Has taken bold strides within their industry, nonprofit or government professional journey since graduation 
  • Has taken bold strides to enhance and inspire their communities  
  • Their accomplishments bring pride back to the institution and extends KSU’s prominence where they live and thrive  
  • Proudly demonstrates the values of KSU: Respect, Integrity, Collaboration, Inclusivity, Accountability 
  • Proud to leave a legacy at KSU: Has shown a commitment to the institution after graduation through mentorship, career connections, philanthropy, etc.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must have earned a graduate or undergraduate degree from Kennesaw State University or Southern Polytechnic State University (or any preceding iteration of either institution)
  • Must be under the age of 40 as of January 1, 2025
  • Must be willing to submit a headshot, if selected, that can be published by units within Kennesaw State University 
  • Self-nominations are not accepted 
     

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Nominations open on Tuesday, September 3, and close Monday, September 30. 
  • All nominees will be notified by the Office of Alumni and Constituent Engagement following the nomination period. Each nominee must fill out an application to be considered for 40 Owls Under 40. 
  • Nominees must have a nomination file that meets the criteria and is not a self-nomination. Nominees MUST fill out an application to be considered for 40 Owls Under 40. Each nominee will be contacted by the Office of Alumni and Constituent Engagement after the nomination period closes with a link to the application.
  • There is no limit to the number of people you can nominate.  
  • Self-nominations will not be considered.
