AP, DE, IB, and other Transfer Credit

Find essential information for students bringing in credits from Advanced Placement (AP), Dual Enrollment (DE), International Baccalaureate (IB), and other prior learning experiences. AP Credit

    • Contact the College Board to request your official AP test scores to be sent to KSU to receive credit.
    • Credit is not awarded based upon high school transcripts. 
    • Talk with your Advisor!
    • Depending on your potential credit there may be Starting Blocks you can register for. Once your scores have been received and evaluated, you can change Starting Blocks later in the Summer if necessary.
    • Review the "Credit-by-Exam" table for current transfer equivalences for AP exams.

Dual Enrollment (DE) Credit

    • All Dual Enrollment credit must be sent via official transcript from the college/university you attended.
      • Contact the Registrar's office of your Dual Enrollment institution if you are unsure how to request your transcript.
    • Credit is not awarded based upon high school transcripts. 
    • Have you submitted your transcript to KSU? If so, once it has been evaluated by our Registrar's office you can then view your KSU transcript in Owl Express to see what your DE credit was evaluated as.
    • If you are still waiting on your transcript to be evaluated or have not yet sent it you can manually search for your equivalencies in the Transfer Credit Database

IB Credit

    • For IB results or IB transcript, please visit www.ibo.org and request a official hard copy be mailed to KSU.
    • Credit is not awarded based upon high school or college transcripts.
    • Talk with your Advisor!
    • Depending on your potential credit there may be Starting Blocks you can register for. Once your scores have been received and evaluated, you can change Starting Blocks later in the Summer if necessary.
    • Review the "Credit-by-Exam" table for current transfer equivalences for IB exams.
    • Downloadable IB Credit tables can be found on our "Handouts" page.

Other Transfer Credit

    • Have you submitted your transcript to KSU? If so, once it has been evaluated by our Registrar's office you can then view your KSU transcript in Owl Express to see what your DE credit was evaluated as.
    • If you are still waiting on your transcript to be evaluated or have not yet sent it you can manually search for your equivalencies in the Transfer Credit Database.
    • Talk to your advisor! Some courses may be equivalent enough to a KSU course that a "substitution" can be initiated by your advisor and then sent for approval by the appropriate department.
      • Be prepared to provide your advisor the course description or syllabus from the class!
  • Please check the Credit-by-Exam tables to see if any of your exams are listed. If so, follow the directions
